I always get a little sad at the end of summer. Maybe it's because I know there are no more lazy days of sleeping in, feeding the kids popsicles for lunch, making out different shapes in the sky from big white fluffy clouds, late nights outside as the kids play night games, brown bodies running through my house, and the list goes on. Time to move on to schedules, school, homework, music and dance lessons, bedtimes and such. But although we need to wait a full year for this magical time of the year to come again, we will never forget these lazy days of summer!

The First Day of School...

Malia (kindergarten) Tai (3rd) Tiare (8th)

Just one last goodbye!!

Well, they're off and running. Freshly ironed shirts, pants, and shorts (the one and only time they will be ironed for the year), shiny new shoes, smiling faces and lunch boxes in tote. Leaving behind a sobbing mother, baby and dog. Yes, it's that time of year again when school days are upon us. I must say that having a schedule is nice again but I really miss the sounds of everyone busily running around. It wasn't the summer of FUN that everyone hoped for, due to the fact that we have a little addition to our family that does NOT like the car. But, we certainly had some bonding time within the walls of our home. And although there were plenty of wrestling matches, being sent to rooms, yelling (luckily the windows were closed) and some huffing and puffing, we had a great time being together. I love each and everyone of these kiddies and am proud of them in their own special way.

In the Beginning...

In the beginning, I started out by viewing a blog here and there.  Over time, I became more and more interested in what was going on out there in the lives of all I love and know.  Then, to the dismay of my teenager (yes, I AM old enough to have a teenager) I became a little obsessive with checking out as many blogs as I could on a daily basis.  Finally, after I had been caught by the teenager (this is Tiare, of course) reading yet another blog, she asked me why I was so obsessed with other people's lives and why don't I just make my own blog???  I guess after seeing the "Mom, get a grip...you are so weird" look for the 50th time, I decided it was time to get busy and create my own family's blog.  So, here we stand...at the beginning of this journey I am embarking on to create a view into the life of this family that I love so much!
